Let's talk: Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair serum's

Advanced Night Repair serum has been part of my night-time skin care routine for the past three years. The texture is not like most serums. It isn’t greasy or sticky, it sinks in quickly and allows you to use it in the day time (ignore the 'night' bit). I find it smooths my skin, within seconds of applying, making it a perfect make-up base.

Estee Lauder claim that Advanced Night Repair 'addresses the appearance of all key signs of visible ageing' ...i have very few fine lines on my forehead, so cannot comment too much on this, but i do think its important to prevent ageing by starting young with good skin care.

It's so important to have a look at the ingredients list when investing in skin care. The first five ingredients (scrap no.1 because it's water) are:

  • Bifida ferment lysate - a probiotic found in the digestive system, which makes our skin more stress resistant
  • Methyl Gluceth-20 - a skin-conditioning agent
  • PEG-75 - an emollient to help soften and lubricate the skin
  • Bis-PEG-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane - a synthetic skin conditioning agent
  • Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride - a specific oil from coconut
  • Dimethicone – a type of silicon oil
  • Nylon-12 – a bulking agent that gives a silky feel to skin
  • Cetyl Ricinoleate - A fatty acid made from castor oil, known for providing a light, non-oily and silky moisture to the skin

Nothing overly exciting from the top five ingredients, but that's more down to the ‘patented’ stuff being much lower down the list. I find this serum reduces spots and also brightens up a dull complexion and for that reason it will be sticking around in my skin care routine until something better comes along.

So with my love for the serum, I thought I would see what the Eye Infusion had to offer. The top five ingredients are mostly oil based to plump up the thin tissue around the eye area:

(water is the first ingredient and the second is Bifida Ferment Lysate)

This serum has taken my sallow circles and fine lines around the 'bag' area of my eyes and made them softer and more hydrated with fine lines being plumped up and made to appear smoother.

The Advanced Night Repair range is well worth splashing out on and will give noticeable difference from first application. Let me know if you have tried this and what you think.
